Declan Brooks is a Partner in Tully Rinckey Ireland’s Dublin office, where he primarily focuses on property law for private and commercial clients, acting for a range of property developers, housing and government bodies, mixed retail, commercial and residential projects. Declan also focuses on both the acquisition and disposal of commercial and residential real estate, loan acquisitions, commercial leasing and refinancing.
Declan brings a range of real estate property law experience to Tully Rinckey Ireland. He most recently was a Partner at Shanley Solicitors, where he handled Commercial, Corporate and Property Law for private and commercial clients.
Declan served his Solicitors Apprenticeship with Patrick F O’Reilly & Company in Dublin from 1991 to 1994, where he received experience in Litigation, Probate and Property. Upon Qualification, he joined Smyth O’Brien & Hegarty Solicitors where his principal role was the setting up and management of a branch office in a Dublin suburb. He gained valuable experience in managing client accounts and all aspects of managing a solicitor’s practice as well as general post-qualification experience. In January 1997, he set up his own practice in the name of Declan Brooks Solicitor in Dublin. There he gained further experience mainly in conveyancing, but also litigation from the District Court to the High Court both civil and criminal.
In 2000, Declan formed the partnership Brooks & Lee Solicitors and moved the practice to his native County Meath. Between 2000 and 2008 he mainly dealt with property acting for developers in acquiring and financing sites and disposal of newly built residential and commercial units. Between 2008 and 2013 the practice diversified and was involved in assisting clients with NAMA, Receivers, Peer to Peer lending and related securitisation as well as general practice. In January 2014, Brooks & Lee Solicitors Incorporated into Oliver Shanley & Company in Navan, County Meath. Declan’s role was as a Senior Associate dealing with Commercial, Corporate and Property Law for private and commercial clients. He was also involved in the management of the practice during that time. In 2017, Shanley Solicitors was established, where Declan was a Partner.
Declan graduated from University College Dublin in 1991 with an Honours Law Degree (BCL).
